When we talk about team spirit, dedication, and that rare kind of person who understands you with just a glance, Mariana Gencheva, Senior Training Representative at Sopharma, instantly comes to mind. She’s not one to seek the spotlight. She doesn’t impose her opinions. But she’s always exactly where she’s needed – bringing presence, care, and unwavering support.
Mariana was nominated as an ambassador for the company value of Teamwork, and not just for her many admirable qualities. Her colleagues recall one moment in particular: her selfless support during a critical event. Offering up her personal time to prepare the team so they could perform flawlessly wasn’t an exception-it’s simply how Mariana works. It’s who she is.
“To be a team player”, she says, “means giving your all. It’s about making sure your part of the job supports the person after you – helps them, builds on their work. That’s how we reach our goals. And communication… communication is everything”.
Mariana began her journey with Sopharma Group back in 2004. Over the years, she’s experienced a wide range of emotions, challenges, and roles – starting as a sales representative for a company that was just beginning its path toward becoming a leading integrated healthcare provider in Bulgaria. Today, as a training representative at Sopharma, she shares her knowledge with care and a deeply personal approach.
What stands out most about Mariana is her genuine desire to see her colleagues grow and thrive. “At the start of my journey with Sopharma Group”, she recalls fondly, “I just wanted to give my best. I saw the energy and passion that everyone poured into their work, and I knew I wanted to be a part of it. To help. To be on the team. To build something together”.
More than 20 years later, Mariana takes pride not just in what she’s accomplished, but in the relationships she’s built. “I have friends I started with, people I’ve shared so much with. Some of them have moved on, but the connection remains. These are people you’ve shared not just tasks with, but experiences, emotions, life. That leaves a mark”, she says with a smile.
And outside the office?
“On the move”, she laughs. A car key might just be the object that best represents her. She loves to travel – it gives her the sense of freedom that later becomes strength and inspiration in her work.
At home, her greatest source of support awaits – her family.
“My work isn’t just a job. It gives me confidence. It’s a part of who I am. I love what I do, and I truly believe that when you give yourself fully, things just work out”.
How do you lead by example?
Mariana believes it’s all in the actions.
“When you give your full self. When you approach even the smallest task with care and love. That’s when people see that you’re not just part of the team – you’re the heart of it”.
If we had to describe Mariana Gencheva in one word, it would probably be inspiration.
